Therapy Dog Reading Partners

Promote children's literacy with your registered therapy dog! The Lafayette Public Library offers therapy dogs and their owners an opportunity to work with young readers twice a month on a Sunday afternoon.  Children read to a dog and her owner for 15 minutes, encouraging young readers to discover the joys of reading.  Dogs and their owners must be registered with a therapy dog program which insures them for up to a million dollars. If you love children, books, and dogs as much as we do, this is the volunteer program for you!
