The committee may make recommendations, based on research and community-based dialogue, to the City Council on youth-related issues and other relevant topics.

    The Citizens' Police Academy is a unique 12 week mini-police academy for citizens 15 and older. The academy meets once a week to explain and demonstrate many of the department's policies, divisions and functions. Areas covered include DUI investigation, crime scene investigation, felony car stops, traffic enforcement, tactics, SWAT, officer safety and more! If you have ever wondered why the police do what they do to keep you safe, apply to attend the 2017 academy! Applications and background checks are required. Applications available online and at the police department. Seating is limited, so apply today!
