Library Co-Sponsored Programs
        Programming Header

Overview
Lafayette Public Library is a hub that connects the community to reading and learning, with programs for children, teens,
and adults. We encourage individuals to share their knowledge and talents with the community, and present programs that are co-sponsored by the library. To present a program at the library, review the following information and
complete the application form.

Programming Guidelines

  • Programs must be free and open to the public and to library staff.
  • Programs may not serve as a platform for generating income for any group or individual.
  • Products or services will not be sold during library presentations. Exceptions: authors speaking about published works, and performers who have recordings available for sale.
  • The library reserves the right to take photographs of programs for its own records and for future promotional purposes.

Programming Timeline

  • Events and programs are generally planned 3 months in advance.
  • The Programming Committee meets monthly to review program proposals; however, not all proposed programs can be accommodated, due to limited space, and to limited staff time for program support. The application review process can take up to 6 weeks.
  • Consideration is given on a first come, first reviewed basis.

Program presenters agree to:

Lafayette Public Library agrees to:
  • Reserve a meeting room space at no charge to the presenter. The library's meeting room accommodates 150, and includes an available lectern, built-in sound system, whiteboard, and projection screen.
  • Publicize the program in its newsletters, social media, and online.
  • If needed, the library may provide a staff or volunteer host to welcome guests and introduce the program.
